For a moment Lily lingered on the verge of telling Sirius it might be good to have the thing taken away when the thought of his brother boomeranged through her consciousness and smacked the forefront of her thoughts once more. Staying silent she looked away from the locket and over to him, frowning.

"Alright, fine, we'll do it your way for now." The kettle whistled and Lily was relieved to have the sorting of tea to busy herself with, diverting her attention from the locket as well as from Sirius. Leaving the cups on the counter because she didn't want to turn back around and look at the table, she spoke over her shoulder at Sirius.

"We need to find out what it is, and I think we need to put it away," like any nerdy Muggleborn teenager, Lily had read Lord of The Rings, and the idea of being able to be watched by You-Know-Who through the locket made her skin crawl. "Just, in a," she looked around the kitchen, opening the cabinet under the sink to retrieve a nearly empty box of washing up powder, dumping the contents in the sink before she held it out to him with a frown on her face.

"Just, we'll keep it under the sink for now," she said with a nod of finality.
