"Since where are you so wise?" he grouses, but there is no bite to it. He doesn't even have the heart to make a dog pun in his head. "Thanks, Lily. I'm just... Fucking hell, I'm so mad at him."
"Since always," Lily's eyes narrowed at him almost immediately, the shadowy artifact under the sink briefly forgotten in favor of drawing far enough away from him to playfully push his arm.
Then, like it always would for as long as they had to carry it, the Horcrux's presence made Lily's thoughts turn back to the dark reality of the situation, though thankfully not with the same morbidity that they might have had, had the thing been closer. "We ought to figure out how to find out what we're dealing with and soon, it might not be safe staying for very long if this thing is important to You-Know-Who." Not that she had any idea where would be safe, but that didn't change the fact that they were a couple of sitting ducks, completely lacking a clue where to go from here.
