[ And true to his word, there's a knock at her door shortly after that text is sent to her. Because he'd been making sure to actually get things done as he texted her, so he wouldn't be too long in getting to her place. And he has the wine as promised too, in a small tote specifically for it hanging from his hand as he waits for her to get the door. ]
Pulling open the door Lily stepped past the offered wine, instead throwing her arms around him as she pressed a contented kiss to his cheek.
"I don't believe you know how to be rude Jon," she murmured affectionately, kissing the side of his face a second time. "It's a bit odd really," Lily continued, stepping back enough to let him enter her flat. "I've never been the rude one in a relationship, but by comparison I very much am."
His arms catch her easily, happily lifting her off her feet a little as he hugs her back with a soft chuckle. He loves how easily she settles in his arms, happy to greet her warmly and be greeted as such before he can even make it through the door.
"You're not rude in the slightest, Lils," he offers as he steals a sweet kiss. He's grinning though, only letting her go long enough to slip past her into the flat. Once he's inside and the door is closed though, he's catching her hand and pulling her back into him for a proper kiss. "You're the sweetest bit of fire I've ever met." His fire, a teasing nickname he occasionally uses for her because of her hair and her stubborn personality. All things he loves about her.
"Not even a little?" The words came warmly muttered against his lips as she set her hand on his cheek to allow her thumb to graze over his jaw. "I've been far too soft on you then," which was true. She'd fostered quite the crush for quite a long time.
Flushing pink beneath her freckles at that blasted pet name (it would surely prove her undoing at some point) Lily rolled forward on the balls of her feet, letting Jon draw her in and meeting that kiss happily as he did so. "How's anyone supposed to think straight with you saying things like that Jon? The odds we'll even make it to eating soup are shrinking by the minute." She narrowed those remarkably green eyes at him, nudging her hip playfully against his before she slipped free of his embrace, catching his hand and tugging him through the flat.
There's a soft hmm at the question, like he really has to think about it. "Barely even a little," he'll eventually confirm. Not that he really leaves her lips to answer her either, lingering in that soft press of kisses. "Too soft, or maybe I'm just wonderful enough that you don't have to be." He's not the only one that had a crush for quite a while. Being at her side, happy to be her friend until they'd realized they'd both had feelings.
"Maybe I think the soup will keep until we have a bit of fun?" He's grinning at her flush, body moving easily with her as a soft sound slips from him. Because really, how is he supposed to think when she's tugging him through the flat like this. "Unless you're determined to eat first. Maybe you can settle in my lap while you eat so we're close." He's mostly teasing, but it's fun to tease her too.
As soon as they pulled away she wished that they hadn't, even if holding onto his hand was enough to keep them ambling through her flat without crashing into too much. Lily was glad she and Jon were done maintaining a respectful distance from one another after years of friendship in school. The newfound closeness they shared had swiftly become one of her favorite things.
After rounding the corner towards her bedroom Lily dropped his hand and turned to throw her arms around him instead, kissing him hard as she leaned into him. Her hands snuck beneath the bottom of his shirt, settling on his sides with a soft hum of appreciation as her palms grazed over his skin.
