During the next ten minutes, Sirius would be making some comment to James about borrowing the map for the night. They'd all had a hand in it so it wasn't like he exactly needed the permission. He only promised that if he was pulling off an elaborate prank, that he'd share the memory with him. But, Sirius had no intention at all of sharing this memory with him.
He walked down the stairs almost ten minutes later and hoped that she would be there.
What seventeen-year-old girl in the history of the world could get ready to see their certainly-not-boyfriend in the middle of the night in ten bloody minutes? Merlin's beard what a wanker. As anyone might she went into a bit of a nervous, fluttered rush, fixing her hair and finding her shoes before a massive sweater was pulled over her head and left to hang to the middle of her thighs.
Lily slipped out of the private room she had been awarded as Head Girl and tiptoed down to the Common Room, her arms crossing tightly over her chest.
"Sirius," she whispered at his back, quickly walking towards him with a thoughtful frown on her face. Lily was fairly certain she was being an idiot again.
When Sirius had told her ten minutes, it never registered in his seventeen-year-old boy brain that girls needed more than ten minutes to meet with your definitely-not-boyfriend. All he had done was roll out of bed, tug on some trousers and a shirt and slide his fingers through his hair.
His gaze was sweeping over the Common Room when he heard her behind him. He turned quickly and sent her a rougish grin. "Please don't give me detention, Head Girl. I swear I am up to everything good."
Wrinkling her nose disdainfully at his pleas for mercy she fluttered a hand at him dismissively. "Oh spare me, Sirius, you're far too pleased with yourself at all times to grovel," she rolled her eyes at him while she spoke, taking a few more steps closer.
"I don't think you're up to anything good," Lily looked over his face, smiling warmly up at him, like the class a prat she had been acting like since the library.
Sirius snorted. "You're not wrong," he agreed and stepped in closer to her and grinned at the warm smile she sent him. "No, I am always up to no good."
He reached out and took one of her hands in his. "So there are a number of places we can go," he said and watched her face. "You can finally show me that Head Girl's dorm you have all to yourself," he sent her a wink. "Or, the clock tower. All depends on how daring we want to be."
At the mention of moving from the Common Room back to her bedroom Lily's eyes flashed in amusement, giving the idea a surprising amount of thought. "Do you want to come back to my bedroom with me Sirius?" Her heart raced, actually saying something like that aloud. There had been some heated exchanges while on family holidays of course, but taking someone all the way back to her bedroom would be a first.
"Is it that you don't think we could make sufficient enough conversation in the Common Room?" A shrewd smirk crossed her features, eyes narrowing in challenge as she dared him to be direct about what he wanted.
"You ask that like you don't know my answer already," he said with a teasing look, drawing her in closer so he could wrap his arm around her. He was thankful that it was late in the evening and everyone was in their dorms by this point. The last thing either of them likely needed was gossip to spread about them. It would only be a matter of time before that spread throughout Hogwarts. Not that he was worried about his reputation exactly but he didn't want Lily to take any heat because of him.
He hummed softly. "Well, I was considering less conversation and more of this," he said before leaning in and pressing a slow kiss to her lips. "But, if you want to talk, we can do that too." Although one was far more enjoyable than the other for different reasons, Sirius would be happy to just talk with her too.
