i accept the rebuke and apologise for being confusing. i don't know if you'll believe that i genuinely admire you and value our interaction. but i make no moves where i know i'll not be welcomed and would pain to a comrade to boot.

to contextualise myself: you should see my notes to remus. the flirtation level is almost obscene.

Sirius knew he'd been talking about both James and Remus, as being besotted with her. (Who so inclined at school wasn't? Evans was the impossible combination of kindness, cleverness, and attractiveness without making you hate her for it. But Remus, far more than Sirius, forbore on behalf on James.

honestly i can't keep straight which rumours anyone else has started about me
from those i've started about me

growing up in the house (gag) of black (blech), it's cathartic to have fun with publicity

still, i take great comfort and satisfaction in my friends having pleasant(er) families

and of course payoff for me: they know the nicer possibilities and can teach me
