[A potted plant is left in front of her door sometime in the night, its flower boasting Arnica">bright yellow petals. A small note is tied to the stem, runes morphing into her native language when she reads it]
Arnica can be used to treat bruises, aches, and sprains.
[As Eleven drifts toward consciousness, he clocks the familiar haze that is exhaustion-induced unconsciousness as it differs from natural sleep. At least he's nicely warm. He groans shortly, shifting, then finally opens his eyes to a curtain of orange strands]
..Lily. [Clearing his throat from the dry rasp of it, he swallows and bats the wayward hair out of his face to better see. They're in her room. Memory is a sluggish thing, but the echo of urgency tells him enough]
[ Once she had gotten everything else squared away and collapsed to bed Lily had slept like the dead. Oblivious to his waking, it wasn't until Eleven called her name that she stirred. The leg that had ended up thrown around his middle tensed as she hummed out a dozy acknowledgement, lifting her head to squint at him. ]
Lily - two things. One, do you know how I can change my name on this device? I'm getting tired of it - not even a bloody Ravenclaw either. Two - we should brew potions.
And, of course! I've got a space for it in my room if you've only got a little something to work on, otherwise, for big projects I ought to show you my workroom. You just need to promise to keep its location to yourself.
Wei Wuxian rubbed his hands together, patting the nag they'd ridden to the outskirts of this particular noble's estate absently as he watched the lights of the household further dim for the evening. The dogs have gone quiet, though they still roam the estate, closer to the house, which thankfully falls further away from the ancestral grounds targeted for the evening's burial expedition.
He sighed, rubbing a hand over his face. The dogs. Only here, where he could flinch when he heard one bark but didn't see them, and could clutch to the horse, did he feel safe enough. It was going to be a problem.
"Lily," he said at length, looking toward her. "In your magics and charms, is there anything to either convince a person that what they see is other than what it is, or to bolster against a specific fear for a specific period of time? Or dampen all emotion, that might work..."
Dogs. Crippling fear of dogs, on a dark estate, when there were bones to lay to rest. Dogs like bones. Are the bones available or scentable? No, but logic had little to do with it.
Humming thoughtfully, the wheels in her mind began to turn, mentally ticking her way through the list of charms and potions she had memorized that might do what he asked.
"There's a potion that makes you feel carefree, and there's a charm that raises your mood and makes you feel elated so you're not afraid. There's also a much more difficult one that will erase the memory of your fear completely - though if it's all the same to you I'd rather not attempt that while we're on a horse and without any practice."
Still lost in thought she looked towards the manor situated on these grounds, a flicker of relief budding in her chest as she watched one of the lit windows go dark, hoping it was a sign that the people this property belonged to were well on their way to sleep, and wouldn't notice the intrusion.
"If something comes for us, I'll turn it into a water goblet, I promise." She had thought she noticed the way he tensed at the distant sounds of dogs barking but felt no need to press him on it. "On the bright side, I've gotten much better with digging holes."
[She's been sitting on this for less than twenty-four hours, only because she's still trying to make heads or tails of what she saw. She's taken down notes, as many of them as she's been able to, with the events as she remembers them.
One thing is clear, she has to share this intel. There is only one possible candidate.]
Lily - are you awake? I know it's late, and I'm so sorry, but I hope you're up.
He felt like a mess. The stress of the past two hours had left him scattered and on edge, going back and forth on whether or not he should leave the city for a time. Ultimately, he'd been forced to lie with intention and took refuge in Lily's room rather than risk returning to his own.
But the worst of it didn't strike until he'd been safe long enough for his mind to wander and put the final piece together. The picture it painted was horrifying.
"Lily," he said weakly, tears springing to his eyes. Cold dread settled in his stomach and spread, leaving shivers in its wake. "They're going to attack the city."
She had done her best to seem calm - or at best, not overtly concerned while getting Eleven back to her room and setting up the various wards and charms she always did to keep people out and their conversations private.
When he spoke, her stomach dropped and she had to stop casting, letting her arms fall and returning her wand to her pocket as she crossed the room to reach for his hand.
"We don't know that," Lily said gently as she lightly squeezed his hand. In truth, she didn't know what she thought. "Taravast is a powerful ally, the undead might be hesitant to do anything and risk losing their access to weapons." Then again, the undead might seize the chance to turn another city into Sa-Hareth. She hated to think it and refused to say it.
"Eleven," she let his hand go, replacing it with an arm around his shoulder. "There's got to be something we can do, and we're going to figure out what that is, together."
My sincere relief to hear your voice after so long for one! A potion that will cure a cold should you find yourself ill and a bag of boiled sweets I've been holding onto for quite some time.
But I must tell you - do not use them at night. This lighthouse isn't right at night and you may think you're going to get a bit of privacy but all that happens is you almost slip and fall and get your clothing all mixed up trying to run away.
[She hasn't had time to dig into what's going on with Five as much as she'd like, but given how long Lily's been here, Allison is hoping she has some insight. It's a long shot, but she's got her fingers crossed.]
Brilliant! Yes, please! Beyond the standard accio-ing I don't have much ability, but you're not alone in being worried after your wand.
I've read a bit of theory on it back in school, and while we were in Taravast I tried to find a tutor who might help but our magic is too different from what they practice there for me to have much success, so I'd love a chance to learn with someone.
I practice quick drawing with Rufus sometimes in a field about ten minutes to the south of the village, it's a nice spot to work in.

Is it - like, where you're from, is that something that magic can do?
Doesn't it, um, kind of imply the existence of souls?

Hatisse asked for her soul to be returned to her body, I feel as though you must be right.
And - as to the message you left for everyone before, I agree. I feel we might need to be prepared to flee. I've been gathering supplies where I can.
